Matheus Cunha scored twice as Brazil swept aside Haiti 3-0 to move top of World Cup Group C, bouncing back from their opening draw with Morocco. All three goals came in a dominant first half in Philadelphia, with Vinícius Júnior turning provider before adding the third himself.

Cunha forced in the opener in the 23rd minute, turning home the rebound after Vinícius Júnior's effort was saved. He doubled the lead on 36 minutes, latching on to a Vinícius pass on the left and smashing a first-time finish high into the net. In first-half stoppage time, Vinícius went from provider to scorer, running on to Lucas Paquetá's lofted pass and slotting past goalkeeper Placide.

Brazil eased off after the break and could not extend the scoreline, with Endrick having an effort ruled out for offside. The result lifted Carlo Ancelotti's side above Morocco on goal difference, while a second straight defeat made Haiti the first nation eliminated from the tournament. Brazil's afternoon was tempered by an apparent hamstring injury to Raphinha, who was replaced before half-time.
