Paraguay 0–0 Australia: Gill's saves earn point as Socceroos advance

Paraguay and Australia played out a goalless draw at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, a result that sent Australia into the Round of 32 as Group D runners-up. Orlando Gill was the standout performer, making five saves to deny the Socceroos on multiple occasions, while Australia dominated possession without converting their chances.

The first half was tightly contested and largely uneventful. Australia had early efforts from Jackson Irvine and Jordan Bos, both comfortably handled by Gill, while Cristian Volpato was denied by the Paraguayan keeper just before the break. Paraguay came out with more intent after the interval — Cáceres, Cubas, and substitute Mauricio all threatened in the opening minutes of the second half — but could not find a breakthrough. Australia's best moments came late: Jordy Bos carried into the box at 83 minutes only to be denied by Gill, and cut in from the right again in the 89th minute with his curled shot going just wide. Goalkeeper Patrick Beach made a save in stoppage time to preserve Australia's point. Both keepers and their defences held firm throughout.
